A new poll confirms what many have predicted for nearly a year. And that is Indiana will be the national battleground for the mid-term elections with one of the most competitive US Senate races in the nation.
A Gravis Marketing poll, the first following our May 8th primary, conducted from May 10-15 among 400 likely Hoosier voters finds Senator Joe Donnelly and Republican nominee Mike Braun in a dead heat.
The poll finds 45% for Braun, 44% for Donnelly and 11% undecided. For a spring poll, six months before the election, this is a very low number of undecided voters. Yet, the small number of undecided voters doesn’t mean that we will have fewer ads to endure. Outside groups are already airing ads on both sides of the contest hoping to drive up the negatives of either Braun or Donnelly.
The same polling firm also asked Hoosiers about their approval of Senator Donnelly. The results mirror the head to head contest question.
